Kipper The Skipper
After hearing that there was a pug at the county dog pound we took a family trip down there to see this pug. We thought Pixie Dust needed a sibling. Well the pug was a mix, and a sassy one that would not move to come visit us. So we decided to keep looking at the hundreds of dogs at the facility. Wow, some cute dogs!!!! Lots of expensive looking full bred dogs down there. Then we get to this Jack Russell Terrier that seriously was smiling and looked like it could do tricks, and maybe even do dishes and laundry too! I was thinking "jackpot", but then we heard sniffles and saw Paris crying into the fence of a kennel. She was staring at a skinny chihuahua that was barely standing up and had a few ticks on him. That dogs eyes were half shut and the thing just looked pitiful. The most dirty, skinny and least attractive dog in the place. His little paws were so worn down from walking and he was clearly an outdoor dog and probably abused since he did have some shoe laces around his collar, which he was found with. She felt so bad for this dog and the tears showed it. So that was enough for Robb to say we were adopting the dog with kennel cough and ticks. From the moment the volunteer opened the kennel door and let the dog visit the kids Kipper came over to Aiden and laid his head into Aiden's lap, as to say "take me home". I am pretty sure he would NOT have been adopted, ever. So Kipper the Skipper came home after a little neutering. The $80 dog, has become a $400 after his medical bills for shots and kennel cough medication. Oh, he is 4 years old..I should mention that!! So, not a puppy. We call him Kipper, or Kippy for short. We think he is a mix, not full Chihuahua. I am thinking Jack Russell, hoping one day to see him doing the dishes, laundry or at least a trick :) He and Pixie get a long great!!!! Whew!!! Paris is happy also!!
