Women With Vision

Besides a busy soccer weekend for our family, I attended a conference over the weekend with the Phoenix Seminary. The key speaker was Kay Warren who's husband is Rick Warren ("Purpose Drive Life" author). It was a great conference hosted by Calvary church this year (off of the Thunderbird/Cactus off ramp and I-17). My sister, aunt, mother-in-law and I went Friday and Saturday.







Happy Tuesday.....kids are in school. I am heading out to the spa (hee hee) to use a gift certificate for a body wrap. I am so excited to get pampered. Then Paris has swim school tonight and the boys have soccer skills training camp. Can you believe it is almost May? May Day is Thursday...I must go get the kids teachers some flowers. We celebrate May Day in our house :)

What a Wonderful Ride It's Been!

State Cup is now over.........Evan's team at CCV is 2nd place in the state of Arizona. Which is still great. We could not be happier. This is the first year that we have been able to play in state cup (the first year it is open to our age bracket).

On our sideline, we probably had about 150 people on Saturday, up at Reach 11. It was overall a fun and exciting game. Lots of headbutting the ball too (ha ha). The 92degree heat did not help though, poor boys red faces were sad for me to watch. Oh my goodness, it is only April but felt like June out there! We videoed, so here is "after the game" photos when we got our medals and the coach got his 2nd place plaque. We got the awards right alongside Sereno, who won 1st place. If you were just a person watching our two groups you would have thought our team won 1st place. We were so happy and clapping at 2nd place. It was a happy time, NO sad feelings among the boys, or parents. We are such a big family. It was great. More smiles and laughter with our team then the 1st place team (maybe that shows the church in our team?).

You'd think we have a break now, but no we don't. We train year round. So we have 4 weeks of skills camp starting this Monday evening. Now Aiden joins the camps too!! He had his try outs for Fall last Saturday! Which is going to be fun, if he quits sliding around and stays on his feet (ha ha). 6 years old is the first year for competitive teams at CCV. I think Paris will try cheerleading at CCV instead of soccer this Fall. Last Spring and Fall she maybe touched the ball once. She did the jog up and down the field. Kept up with the boys, but was always flirting!! We even caught her giving a team member a shoulder massage on the sideline. Yep, I had that stopped real quick :)






I am putting my CCV tank top away until the next tournament or game, which will probably be Labor Day....lots of camps and training to be had this summer (yep in the AZ heat!)

The Traveling Frog

My little project since March has been the Traveling Frog :) The story is my hair guy has this frog (look in the photos) sitting on his station usually with tip $ in it's mouth. Well I decided to kidnap it and take it with me to Disneyworld and take a photo of it in the park like it went on vacation. It was silly and kinda funny at the time. Like, the frog got bored of sitting in the salon for 10 years and needed some R&R. My kids had fun too with it. It was hard getting Paris out of the photo (she kept creeping in). People at Disneyworld thought I was nuts, I am sure. The frog did go on Splash Mountain, Haunted Mansion and a few other rides in my backpack that day with us.

Anyway, after the trip, it became so much fun for my hair dresser that now everytime I (or another client) takes a trip the frog goes too and gets a photo of where it traveled. My hair guy has a vacation album for the frog on his station....so here is the Traveling Frog photos I have accumulated so far since March. Kind of a "Roaming Gnome" thing :)

Growing Up!

Evan officially no longer goes to a pediatrician, but now to our family dr! He is growing up.........here is Evan being goofy with my Iphone camera. I had no clue he took this photo until I uploaded the pictures today! Silly boy!

2 Weeks Until......

2 Weeks Until Cinco de Mayo!!!!!!!!


I love this holiday......purely because I love Mexican food and great memories of this holiday!!!! Cinco de "Macayo" everyone!!! You know what I will be eating (Macayo's or maybe Top Shelf)......anyone else????? I may even let my kids enjoy this sacred holiday (gasp) and get a pinyata this year. Instead I will fill it with IOUs inside for cleaning and doing chores around the house (ha ha ha ha ha). Yep, I am going to Party City this week and getting myself a SOMBRERO and some maracas!!!

So, how will you be celebrating this "gem of a holiday"??????? Am I the only one who appreciates it?????

I may have to scan some old pictures of Leah, Liz and I's bus trip down to Nogales for a day of shopping back in 1994 (or 1995?).....I have pictures...pretty cool hair styles! Viva Nogales!

Still in State Cup!!!

Yay, for Evan and his team! They are still in State Cup! Yesterday they won against Sereno, then they moved on to today and won against the Blackhawks. So they are still in the State Cup! It is "do or die" time, as once you lose you are out and your season ends. So right now Evan's team is #2 in the state.

So we have a game this coming Saturday against another Sereno team. If we beat them, we play them again on Sunday for the final match. So two games against the same team (they are currently #1 as of today). It is actually Evan's old team from when he started playing competitive soccer in 1st grade. We found CCV closer to us in 2006 and just love it.

PS~ My weekend did not start "happy happy"...some of you might have heard the story already and I'll email it to you in full if you want. Long story short, Friday Aiden decided to walk home from school which is still a good 3-4 miles away along BUSY streets. Well it was stressful having a 6 year old disapear and have the campus search for a child that I thought was there and the staff not realize he was gone. Thank goodness a staff member saw him about 1.5 miles away and called 911. The police brought hime back to school. That sums it up. Not really his fault. So I can't be too mad at him he is only 6 and he was suppose to be in the after school program. He does know better and he'll NEVER do that again. Big Friday afternoon for me....I thought my Aiden was gone and I was completely freaked out and crying. Thinking the worst. There is more to this story. But details and pointing fingers at people are not fun and cheerful. So he is home and I am blessed no one kidnapped him or anything like that as he walked for an hour and 15 minutes by himself.

Howdy Ya'll

Wow, what a busy week....is it Friday already? Didn't I just get home from Vegas? The week FLEW by! This week I seriously just was on the go! I had a Geology final this week, bought a new washer/dryer (an LG), went to Bible study, went to Pilates, did my normal routine with groceries/dry cleaning/post office/Target/soccer/ballet/swim, plus my dad left for New Zealand for 9 days. So I sent a little "project" with him in his suitcase. I'll write a post about that when he gets home. He went to hunt there, some kind of elk I guess. Anyway, I'll just call my project, "Project T.T.F.". Ha ha :)

This weekend Evan has State Cup games for soccer. It is down to the last 4 teams and his team is 1 of the 4. Whoo hoo. So yes, we will be there!! I am missing the Scrapbook convention to go!! Hope they win!! Or at least win Saturday and move on to Sunday! The last round....pretty cool.....anyway, hope ya'll are doing good. I have been buried in books studying. Then next week is another busy week. 6 weeks until Lake Powell is what I keep saying......
