Last Stop: Serbia!

"It is a city where you can dance until sunrise seven nights a week, where hospitality crackles in the air, and where looking good is a birthright and a religion in one," ~CNN Traveller

"The Serbs have only two friends, God and the Greeks," ~Former Republic of Srpska President Dr. Radovan Karadzic

Belgrade, Serbia: June 18-23rd, 2010

The Cathedral of Saint Sava is an Orthodox church in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, and the largest Orthodox church building in the world. The church is dedicated to Saint Sava, founder of the Serbian Orthodox Church and an important figure in medieval Serbia. It is built on the Vračar plateau, on the location where his remains are thought to have been burned in 1595 by the Ottoman Empire's Sinan Pasha. From its location, it dominates Belgrade's cityscape, and is perhaps the most monumental building in the city. The building of the church structure is being financed exclusively by donations.

Evan's soccer tournament in Belgrade Serbia. They won their first game and the rest of the games kicked their behinds! East Europeans are serious about soccer (football).

Toby the frog came with us to Serbia!!! It rained every day we were there.

We ate WAY WAY WAY too much gelatto!!!

"Serbia is the ideal destination for anyone looking for an adventurous holiday, without any long-haul flights, and a love of meeting the locals. You get a real feeling of being in an exotic location, where the tectonic plates of Islam, Orthodox Christianity and Roman Catholicism, alongside socialism and capitalism, have all collided in the past, " -Guardian: The Observer Travel

Long Live The Queen ~ London 2010

"By seeing London, I have seen as much of life as the world can show," ~Samuel Johnson

London, England ~ June 12-18th. The last official stop of the family trip! Our family leaves us here in London and we stay an extra few days before heading to Serbia. Those extra days were relaxing. The days were filled touring and we saw the play "Mama Mia". Paris LOVES that movie.

London is all about good food, manners, the Underground, London Eye, black taxi cabs, Fish & Chips, tea, cobblestone, Harrod's, the rise and fall of the Thames daily, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, the Beatles, everything royal, London Bridge (the joke is on Arizona), theater, walking everywhere, Boots Chemist, Tesco, football (which is soccer) and the perfect weather

The view from our hotel room. We fell asleep every night looking at the lights of the city and hearing the sound of Big Ben :)

The London Eye, on the Thames. Outside the hotel room

The family leaves back to the USA, but we stay for a few more days. Good bye everyone!!!
