Our Girl's Fun Friday

Every Friday Paris and I have a "girl's fun day" because she does not have school. So this past Friday we went to As You Wish. It's a painting pottery kinda place. It was a lot of fun and our first time there. We will defintely go MANY more times! She is a little artist! We could have stayed the whole day! We will go back this week and pick up our painted goods after it gets fired in the kiln. Then afterwards, we went to Target and she picked up these nifty "Disney" nails (hee hee). When we got home Paris decided I should give Pixie a manicure (or maybe I'd call it a pedicure on a dog?), anyhoo, so I did. Our Friday is officially documented and boy was it fun and eventful! Not a dull moment from start to finish! Now, what shall we do for next week? Hummmmmmm............

**I'll post photos from Evan's school talent show tomorrow. It was cute. He and his cousin Jacque were in it last night. He played guitar in his group "The 3 Disciples" and Jacque danced a routine to "Walkin' on Sunshine". Too cute! We video'ed too

My Jury Duty Tuesday........

Ok my big day! Got up at 6am, then took the kids early to school by 8am and headed right over to Mesa via the 101 and the 60 during morning rush hour (yuck). Took me an hour and half to get there. Once there the jurors went through an orientation at 10am and had a 2 hour break for lunch starting at 11am. Then 1pm reported back and I was Juror 6 of 40 to go into the court room. We, as a group, heard about the case and were asked if we could serve by the judge. I explained my issue with Paris being in preschool and getting out of school so early, I can't commit to 1-5pm for the next 3 days. I also said I drove 43.5 miles each way. I also said I could not give a fair trial to this man because it had to do with a "meth" seller who got caught. I said I am bias against drug dealers since they ruin lives. So I was released at 3pm....so my time serving our state was from 9:30am-3pm. I even ate lunch at the court house and made a friend who is a school teacher. Read a few magazines and took a few random camera phone pictures. None too interesting. Took them before the 100+ jurors showed up to report. Wow, a lot of STRANGE people out there. But if they needed an even mix of people, well they got it! Seriously, every race, gender and lifestyle was on display! Should have taken pictures of the people, now thinking about it!

So now I am done with this long awaited jury duty...my first EVER! I am in the clear for 18 months. And I did find it interesting, and sad in a way. If I did not have small kids to still take care of, I'd be interested in being a juror. They did offer me a 10 day trial prior to being picked, I declined that!!!

Jury Duty

I am not happy....tomorrow I have Jury Duty in MESA. I have for years been excused, but now have to serve my time. I ran out of legitimate excuses. I know I should be thankful I live in a country (the good ole' USA) with jurys and this wonderful system, but really driving an hour (or more) in rush hour is not going to be fun fo me. Making me a cranky juror who's lips have been pouty all day thinking about tommorrow. Especially when I have to arrange my kids' schedule around my jury day & get help with their drop off and pick up......just a little vent!

Cross your fingers I get released early and out of there!!!

Pixie's Party

Yesterday we celebrated Pixie's 1 year adoption day. We adopted her from a rescue on Feb 3rd, 2007. So in honor of her being with us for a year we decided to make Feb 3rd her birthday too! So here she is in her Diva outfit enjoying some dog treats! She would really be 5 years old, but that is too many candles for those little treats! The kids had a lot of fun doing this! But it did get Paris saying "she wishes God in Heaven would bring her a baby sister".

Build-A-Bear Party

Today was Paris' birthday party. We hosted 14 classmates, 3 family members, & Paris (plus parents watching) at Build-a-Bear workshop at the mall. We had 2 great hosts, who did a great job with the kids. Here are our photos of the 2 hour event with 18 kids!! It was fun, but also busier then usual in the store because of the Super Bowl tomorrow. Lots of tourists at the mall today. Happy 5th birthday Paris...this concludes her birthday week!!

The last picture I think we left by my sister...taken outside in the mall parking lot after the party.

Hannah Montana 3D Movie

The Hannah Montana 3D movie is here in theaters for 1 week, so I preordered some tickets for the 1st showing online. So we went this AM and the movie was just like the real concert, but it had some added backstage clips. So here are Kenzie and Paris.

Can you guess which of the 2 is the "wild child"?
