Paris' 6th Birthday

January 30th, 2009 Miss Paris Scott turned 6 years old!!



Glitter + 20 girls + A Microphone + Fun Hair = A Girlie Girlz Party for Paris!!


The girls sang kareoke and got all glamorous!! High School Musical, Hannah Montana and Camp Rock songs were definitely on the playlist!

At the end of the party the girls did a fashion show for all the waiting parents. They showed off their hair and make-up...along with some boas and microphones! Everyone told "Rockstar Paris" happy birthday!!



After the party at home...Paris was so hyper and full of energy!! Look at her eyes, ha!! She wants to run and play with her new goodies!!

My Vegas Birthday

My 31st birthday, in photos:

My morning started with Paris losing her 1st tooth ever!! She was wearing the gloves to school, so of course she couldn't take them off for the photo.

The surprise was a trip to Vegas!! I had NO CLUE until Robb showed me the airline ticket once we were at the terminal (actually at the security check point). I have lots of photos to post, just no time lately. We stayed at "The Signature" at MGM, which was so nice and being a Thursday was a GREAT deal. We ate at MGM's Japanese restaurant (forgot the name), but we had a 6 course meal. Then we went to my birthday surprise...dum dum dum, envelope please!! TOM JONES concert :) Aren't I a lucky lady??? A husband who listens and knows I just adore Tom's music!! As you can tell by the music playing on my blog currently. I have seen Tom once before here in Az with my Aunt Laureen (maybe 1998 or 1999?) and have ever since wanted to see him in Las Vegas.

So his show was at MGM and it's in the Hollywood Theater. It's lounge style, so we sat 3 rows from the stage. And boy we got to see him really close!! He sounds just as good in person then any cd. Boy he has some great vocals!! And yes, 2 pairs of ladies "under garments" were thrown on stage at him (one lacy and one cotton looking). He just ignored it. So it must happen at every show.

Everything was just so fun and Robb was such a great date!! I think I'll keep him, ha ha!!! Happy Birthday to me...on my actual birthday!! What a guy..... how do I top this for his birthday??????

The Kitchen, HURRAY!!!

My and Kristi's loving and generous grandparents donated to build this kitchen at Tru Vine!! Tru Vine is where we spent a lot of time volunteering at in Uganda. Tru Vine is a boarding school, day school, church and clinic. The widows who take care of the orphan kids were cooking for 400 kids twice a day outside on an open fire. This kitchen is such a blessing and will definitely help with disease prevention. So far this is the progress!!



I can't wait to see this in person all finished this June!

Happy MLK Day

It's a 3 day weekend in our house, which means a soccer tournament!! It's been busy!! Thursday Robb has a surprise for me. He is taking me somewhere for my 31st birthday. Not sure where. I'll keep you all posted!!

Off to work out and yes, another of Evan's soccer games for this tournament. Then tennis lessons for Paris and soccer practice for Aiden.

Isn't this year flying by already??? Felt like Christmas last week!

A Fresh New Year, Yay!!

I am still here, just so busy this week playing catch up from the kids being on Christmas break. So I am adjusting to real life once again :)

I hope everyone's new year is off to a great start. Mine is!!! Happy and healthy is all I measure my happiness by..so we are doing wonderful!!

Happy New Year... if anyone wants to start the year with a donation to help Tru Vine in Uganda build a computer lab at the school below is info and a link. 100% tax deductible and it will go along way to helping these kids with their eduction. This is where I went and helped at last November. The Peace Corps has a volunteer living at Tru Vine. The facility needs $3084.00 dollars to finish the project. I want to help raise this alongside the Peace Corps field officer Kendra who lives in Uganda (she is from the US).

Computer Lab

Bridging the gap between dependency and independency involves providing people with the appropriate tools. Giving people the skills and materials they need to be productive, proactive members of society is development at its best.

True Vine Team Ministries is a faith-based organization that serves the impoverished area of Eastern Uganda by providing low-cost medical care as well as educational opportunities. Currently there are 36 employees and 74 upper primary students who would benefit greatly from access to a functional computer lab.

As of now there are a few unreliable computers and some defunct computer accessories. It is the community’s vision to provide the employees and students with and up-to-date computer/technology lab where the employees can cultivate computer skills and acquire and acquire information that will improve their working capacity. Students and employees will be able to access more information including sensitive information about HIV/AIDS. In addition, the lab will also give the primary school students the skills they will need to be competitive in the Ugandan labor pool.

True Vine Team Ministries has the capacity to provide the building, some furniture, and pay the electricity and Internet bill so the lab may be suitable. With the funding from this proposal we hope to purchase at seven desktop computers, some educational l materials and furniture for the lab. With the use of an LCD projector that has already been purchased, workshops will be provided for the True Vine staff free of charge.
