Summer is almost here, yay!

9 weeks until our annual trip to Lake Powell........

Our vacation recipe: Some sand + red rock + water + 3 houseboats + some water toys + ski & bass boats + 35 family members + love + lots of laughter + a few cameras + a gallon of sunblock + chess board + a fire pit + night vision binoculars + sand toys + solar tiki torches + fishing poles + about 100 dvds + a ping pong table + "the bonzai" + Robb's "slingshot" (ha ha ha) + a trip to Rainbow Bridge + 6 fridges, 7 freezers and about 20 ice chests of food........and last but not least the "evening show" (wink wink), which I can't really talk about to those who are not on the trip with us......but my dad puts it on after dinner on select nights :)

This is what it looks like when 35 people eat dinner together :) Last year's trip!

More fun memories we shared....a family that plays together, stays together!

I'm Still Here

Just a little blogging break. I have been scrapbooking and the kids went back to school today after 11 days off! Wow!! I was skipping into the school today to drop them off. Back into my routine. Yesterday was the funeral for my childhood friend and it was very sad. 30 is too young to die. All around it was sad, Evan starts State Cup games this weekend for soccer. WHOO HOO! Then 2 weeks until my sisters and I go with my father on a "Father/Daughter" weekend to Vegas! Should be a lot of fun. We will go see the Beatles LOVE show and Phantom of the Opera (which I have seen maybe 5 times, hee hee, but not in Vegas).....so life is good.

PS~ Also, my sweetheart, best friend and hubby of 11 years Robb turned 37 yesterday......it was his birthday :) So, since it was a national holiday in our house I took that day off from blogging, cooking and cleaning! I am a lucky gal, huh?

Among Angels...

At 9pm last night I got an email from my aunt that shook me. I found out that a friend I knew since I was 5 years old died in his sleep Tuesday morning. Jimmy was 30and left behind kids. I am really shaken over this. I went to school with him from Kindergarten until 5th grade. Then freshmen year in highschool summer I hung out with him again. He was so funny and smiling, and he was just a great friend. It was kind of funny because way back in Kindergarten he was my first "boyfriend" :) ha ha. Now I am going to his funeral much too soon. Nowadays, I would see his mother weekly in my Bible study and get updates on his life. I always would think to myself, I should pass along my phone number to extend a dinner invite from Robb and I. But never did. Now I have the "woulda coulda shoulda". He himself had to bury a child about 10 years ago from SIDS, so hopefully they are together in Heaven.

So yes...I am shaken right now. I know we are all here for a reason and our time here on earth is already predetermined before we are born by God. But this is just sad, maybe because I knew him since Kindergarten and I am 30 too. I'll be at his funeral Monday for sure.

Here is us in 1st grade, I am in the front row (3rd from the left, with pigtails) and Jimmy is in the middle row (5th from the left, with the blonde hair):

Kenzie's 5th Birthday at "As You Wish"

This is me doing Pilates. Not as graceful as some do it :) But I am in my 6th week, and hey I am the opposite of athletic. So I thought I'd bring a camera and catch this all on film in case I quit and never excercise again, which could happen any day now. My motivation is summer right now!!! Yay, Lake Powell!!!! This Pilates studio is at 59th Ave and Union Hills and it is called Unique Physique.

And yep...you win Krista!!! I am going to Uganda! With "Hope 4 Kids" (see by sidebar for a link to their website). Very cool organization! Now I gotta get the required Yellow Fever shot for my visa, but along with a recommended Typhoid and some other shots. YIKES! Plus oral Malaria pills to take along........but I am EXCITED! Plane tickets are booked, fees paid. I am IN!
