My Week In Pictures

Strangely enough for most of my week I had my camera with me. I did not take pictures of the usual gymnastics, ballet and soccer practices. Overall I think I caught the bulk of the "good times". I did have some stressful times of rushing around and getting from here to there, but overall it's just life!!! And at the end of the day this is what it is all about!!! Family and the kids growing up....these are the days and times I will long for when they are grown and out of the house. So I'll take the busy days of driving, grouchy complaining by the kids over their lunches or their socks not matching any day because I know I am loved and I have the greatest gift of all :) Family!

I made Paris a book box for school out of a Saltine cracker box, ribbon, wrapping paper and my glue gun :) I was almost done when I thought I'll take some silly photos.

Attended Signatures' "Charm-tini" and purchased myself a Brighton charm necklace I built myself...and of course did not take a photo of...but it is cute!!!

I got this sign too, cute huh? It'll go in my office, since I am not sure if it's appropriate for my kitchen, hee hee:

I found this cute little outfit and beret at Target with a Paris theme to it for Pixie Dust. "Les French Make No Faux Paws" is what it reads....hee hee, she looks annoyed!

Bible study started back up! My aunt leads it and it's on Weds at 9am if anyone wants to join us...all is welcome!!! Leave me a comment and I'll get back with you with more information! We are starting back in Genesis, after finishing up Revelations last Spring and taking off the Summer.

This does not look safe, huh? Me driving after the rain and taking a few photos at night :) The streets just looked so cool all wet, with the reflection of the street lights. I turned off my flash and took some not even looking through the view finder. We were at soccer and cheer pratice and got stuck up at CCV in a building waiting for the rain and wind to stop. It was really bad up there. Hail everywhere and branches thrown around all over the fields in a matter of 15 minutes. Wow!!! Anyway, this was on my way home. I thought it was cool and I never have my camera in my purse.

Evan's sucker fish died on Thursday night. It's really big so I did not want to flush it. So it went to garbage heaven instead of toilet heaven. This fish was 2 years old and ate 2 other fish we put in the tank last summer. So now we only have 2 fish in the tank, and 1 beta fish. Not sure this fish's name. I'll just call him "Mr Cranky" since he never looked happy :)

This is what my carpool looks like, minus 1 Miss Ashley who got picked up by dad at school before this photo was taken. Or else there would be 6 smiles :)

This was our "Friday Night Lights". Last night was Paris' first night (of many more to come) of cheerleading for tackle football. The cheerleaders cute outfits had not come in yet, so they all wore their practice shorts and shirts for the 1st game. Oh well...but they did a good job!!! Paris is in the front row. I made her wear a big white bow (which she hated) but I wanted her to stand out since there is 14 of them and I was not sure where she'd stand. I have a 5 year old cheerleader, it's so funny to be honest!!! I was actually going to pull her since I thought it was going to be goofy, but she really likes it. They are like mini athletes already!

Exclusive Photos....

I have obtained some exclusive and top secret photos of "Camp David" up in Flagstaff. The project is very secretive and guarded. No where on the world wide web will you find these photos. Robb stumbled upon the location of this project while up in Flagstaff last weekend and took some camera phone pictures before security saw him. So I am giving the world it's first glimpse of Arizona's first ever "Camp David"....almost completed. It will be like the new Area 51, I have heard (and that is all I can say without getting in trouble).

Happy Weds!

My day below.........no joke :) I am at my carb intake for the week!!!

Anyone get caught in that microburst tonight??? We were at soccer and cheer practice outside and it came in fast! It hailed where we were.......kinda cool! Gotta love Arizona in the monsoon season. No place like good ole Az! OH, and Paris had try outs for the "Nutcracker" at her dance studio last Saturday and she got the role of a mouse!! She is so happy. Last year she was a baby angel. This year a mouse. She has a friend who is also a mouse and a cousin who is a solider (or got offered the solider part and is debating it since there is a time commitment for practicing). So yay to the Nutcracker for year #2 :)

More Videos....

I figured out that the world needs more of my home videos :) ha ha ha ha ha!!!

Disneyland, Teacups Ride 2008 (no it has not changed, nothing exciting happens, but I still video'ed it)

Aiden last season goes for a goal on his soccer team...does he make it???? (suspense)

***Anyone who has never heard me talk, I am the narrator, director and videographer of these videos, so my voice is all over these videos :) But I am not on camera though.

I Have A Date!!!

I have a date with some HD channels tonight :) A new series called True Blood starts tonight on HBO. I am not a vampire kinda gal, but I watched the making of this new series and it looks really good. So I will test it out tonight. Then Entourage starts back up again, gotta watch it too. So it's an HBO evening for me.....and Robb will be home soon, he was up at the cabin this weekend with Evan. So he is making breakfast for dinner. My favorite :) He knows it, so he suggested it!

And of course I'll be watching Big Brother tonight too...thank goodness for DVR! Go Dan!!!! I am hoping Jerry is out next. Followed by (I hate to say this) Memphis. Gotta root for a girl to be in the final 2. And Memphis won a car and he is a little "full of himself". So I am hoping the final 2 are Dan and Keesha.....Sept 16the is the finale!

Many Faces Of Paris

I was going through my photo files and cleaning them up, and realized I have a whole cache of pre-blog photos :) I was laughing at all Paris' dramatic and funny expressions in these photos. These photos were all taken of her while she was 1-3 years old......she is a drama queen :) ha!

This last one is her Korean 100 Day outfit. My kids are all 1/4 Korean. The outfit is a tradition when they reach 100 days old. My boys have photos in their's, but their's aren't dresses :)

I {{Heart}} Palin

I am pretty much in awe of Sarah Palin and I never talk politics with people but she blew me away the other night! When we were in Juneau we saw the governor's mansion and heard she was Alaska's first female governor and first governor to have a baby in office. Now look, VP nominee! Wow.....then look...she hunts too! I come from a family of hunters, so I can appreciate this. So with a POW and a female hunter on the ballot, who do you think I am voting for??? DUH?????

I am a goof ball..........

It's funny when a photo reminds you to not take things so serious. Yes, that is a genuine laugh with lunch in my mouth...why I am posting this, I don't know. A dear friend emailed it to me :) Probably to remind me I don't always have pose with big "teethy" smile and sparkling make up for my photos! HA! Seriously, I don't take myself serious....wait until Africa, those pictures will show it!

Lets just title this photo, "genuine Shawna"......

Ganoo's Birthday

My great-grandmother "Ganoo" as we all called her passed away last year, today (September 3rd) is her birthday. She would have been, I think, 100 this year. I may have to double check this with my grandmother, her daughter. But I am sure she would have been, because I was thinking "Party" for this year :) Anyways, last July she joined her husband in Heaven who has been waiting for her patiently. Both Grandpa Earl and Ganoo got to meet 1, or all 3, of my kids. Which is pretty neat. They would be their great-great grandparents. Here is a photo in 2003 of Ganoo with Paris (Ganoo's real name is Frances, the nick-name Ganoo stuck after a grandchild named Lou Anne started saying it many years ago):

***Funny story, I almost named Paris' middle name after my great grandmother Frances. Miss Paris Frances :) Like Paris France (but add an S of course at the end, ha!). But many thought that would be a little over the top and too much like the country, and such, since the war was looming (and the US and France were not like each other then, remember "Freedom Fries"??). So I went with my dad's name... Miss Paris Scott. Still cute, but sometimes I think Paris Frances would have been cute. You????

It's now Sept....and my countdown begins! 67 days until my trip. Here is where I am going, Uganda Africa with Hope 4 Kids....the map is below of the country. Kinda nervous though :) Good nervous, I hope! November 6th I depart.

Happy Labor Day...or lack of labor shall I say!
